BREAKING NEWS: Georgia football dismisses another player after second domestic violence arrest

The Georgia football team has been in the news this offseason, but not for the best reasons. The Bulldogs have struggled with driving-related issues in recent years, and now the focus has shifted to a more troubling matter.

Wide receiver Rara Thomas was recently arrested on charges of cruelty to children and misdemeanor battery. As a result, Thomas has been dismissed from the team.

“Senior receiver Rara Thomas has been dismissed from the Georgia football team following his second arrest in two years for a domestic violence incident,” reported *The Athletic*.

Thomas began his college career at Mississippi State before transferring to Georgia. His first arrest occurred shortly after this transfer, involving an incident with his girlfriend in a dorm room. He faced charges of felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor family violence, though the charges were eventually dropped.

Thomas’s second arrest occurred last Friday. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart met with Thomas shortly after the incident and informed him that he could no longer be part of the team.

“I met with Rara on Tuesday and had the chance to talk to him face-to-face, which was important. I informed him that he could no longer be a part of this team, and he understood that,” Smart said.
