Louisville football has landed its first commitment for the Class of 2027. Quarterback Jack Sorgi from Tri-West High School in Lizton, Indiana, announced his decision to join the Cardinals following an impressive performance at a Louisville camp earlier this month.
Sorgi, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect, earned his first college offer from Louisville after showcasing his talent during the camp. He was the only quarterback among six or seven top 2027 QBs to receive an offer from the staff.
The son of former NFL quarterback Jim Sorgi, Jack said the coaching staff praised his footwork, arm strength, and passing ability. “They told me they see potential in my development as a quarterback,” Sorgi shared. “It was exciting to receive the offer and think about the chance to play at Louisville.”
At the camp, Sorgi impressed with his deep throws and command during drills. “I thought the camp went well. Competing alongside other talented QBs was a great experience,” he said. “The instruction from the coaches was one of the best parts. It’s about learning and continuing to improve.”
Sorgi plans to attend additional camps in the coming weeks, including ones at Indiana University and the University of Indianapolis. During his sophomore season, he completed 119 of 201 passes for 1,729 yards, 19 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. As a freshman, he saw limited action but showed promise.
His father, Jim Sorgi, played college football at Wisconsin and served as Peyton Manning’s backup with the Indianapolis Colts after being selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.
247Sports analyst Allen Trieu praised Sorgi’s early commitment, noting his athleticism, frame, and strong football background. “He’s a standout athlete, also excelling in baseball, and has great mobility at quarterback. Combine that with strong fundamentals and football lineage, and it’s clear why Louisville made the early move.”
