JUST IN: Salford Red Devils confirm the capture of recently sacked super League player

Salford Red Devils have announced the immediate signing of former Catalans Dragons player Jayden Nikorima. Nikorima has agreed to a one and a half year contract with the Red Devils, keeping him at the Salford Community Stadium until the end of the 2025 Super League season.
The half-back will join Paul Rowley’s squad right away and aim to help the club secure a top-six spot this season. Nikorima became available after Catalans terminated his contract earlier this month due to an incident deemed “highly unacceptable” by the club.
Siua Taukeiaho and Damel Diakhate were also released by the French outfit at the same time. However, Nikorima wasted no time securing a new club, and the former Sydney Roosters and Melbourne Storm player is eager to make an impact in Greater Manchester.
“I am really excited to be part of this great club,” Nikorima said after signing with Salford. “I look forward to working hard, playing my best, and contributing to the team’s success. I am very grateful for the opportunity and the warm welcome, and I can’t wait to get started.”
With 10 regular Super League games remaining this season, head coach Paul Rowley believes the addition of Nikorima, who was also linked to Hull FC, might come at an ideal time as Salford seeks an extra boost for the run-in.
“It’s that time of year when a fresh face and a player of quality is a welcomed addition as we enter the final push for finals rugby,” Rowley said. “Jayden joins us with his true potential yet to be realised, and we welcome him and his young family to Salford.
“We are looking forward to working together to fulfil his and our club’s goals in 2024 and beyond. He is an exciting addition to our team!”
