It may seem early to talk about the 2026 NFL Draft, but front offices are already planning ahead, evaluating future roster needs. For the Buffalo Bills, having addressed major defensive needs this past offseason, the focus next year may shift toward the offense.
One of the biggest uncertainties beyond the 2025 season is the running back position, particularly whether James Cook will remain with the team. The Bills have added depth at wide receiver with players like Joshua Palmer, Laviska Shenault, Elijah Moore, and Kaden Prather. However, Palmer is the only one currently under contract beyond 2025. Buffalo also has second-year receiver Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir—who signed a four-year extension—and Curtis Samuel, though Samuel struggled with injuries last season.
Given this context, it seems unlikely the Bills would prioritize wide receiver in the 2026 draft, especially with several capable options already on the roster. However, Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone projects that Buffalo will use its first-round pick to draft Jordyn Tyson, a wide receiver from Arizona State.
While Tyson had a strong 2024 season and may continue to impress in 2025, using a first-round pick on a wide receiver doesn’t align with the team’s more pressing needs. The Bills would likely benefit more from drafting a linebacker or running back, depending on how the roster looks heading into next offseason.
