3-years Illinois starter joins Colorado football.
The Colorado football season recently ended following a disappointing loss to BYU in the Alamo Bowl, marking the beginning of the offseason.
While the Buffaloes had a much better 2024 season compared to 2023, their campaign ended on a down note as they fell short of a Big 12 title game and College Football Playoff berth.
Now, Deion Sanders is focusing on preparations for the 2025 season, with a key aspect being the transfer portal. On Wednesday, the Buffaloes secured a commitment from Illinois transfer Zy Crisler.
“Former Illinois offensive lineman Zy Crisler has committed to Colorado, he tells ESPN,” Pete Thamel reported. “Crisler has started for three seasons on the offensive line at Illinois.”
This is a significant addition for the Colorado football team, as the offensive line could be the most crucial position group heading into next season. While Colorado’s offensive line improved compared to last year, it still fell short of where it needed to be, contributing to the team’s inability to reach its goals.
The importance of the offensive line in football is undeniable, and Colorado exemplifies why. While the Buffaloes are strong at the skill positions, without solid performance up front to both run the ball and protect the quarterback, those skill players’ efforts can only go so far.
