An investigation by Attorney General Tim Griffin’s Public Integrity Unit resulted in the arrest of a former employee of the City of Alexander.

According to reports, 36-year-old Melissa Ann Anthony-Ratliff was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee, and charged with theft of property. Officials discovered that she had falsely claimed to have worked more hours than she actually did in 2021 and 2022, resulting in her being paid more than twice her annual salary. She is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.

“I commend the agents in my office’s Public Integrity Unit who worked diligently to investigate this case. Corruption in any form is reprehensible, but violating the trust that Arkansans have in public servants is particularly egregious,” said AG Griffin.
