Every contending team needs unexpected contributors, and Latz has become exactly that for Texas.
His emergence has provided stability in high-pressure situations and has helped compensate for injuries and inconsistency elsewhere on the pitching staff. Having a reliever capable of protecting close leads gives the Rangers confidence in tight games, making Latz one of the organization’s most valuable assets entering the second half.
Corey Seager’s Difficult Season Has Been the Rangers’ Biggest Disappointment
While several players have stepped forward, no disappointment has been more significant than the struggles of star shortstop Corey Seager.
Seager has remained one of baseball’s premier offensive players throughout his career, but injuries continue to limit both his availability and production.
