New Timeline Emerges for Miami Dolphins’ Jalen Ramsey Trade
The Miami Dolphins have been actively seeking to trade cornerback Jalen Ramsey for the past two months, but no agreement has been reached yet. Ramsey has missed both organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, and it seems unlikely he will attend training camp next month.
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, a trade may not happen until after the regular season begins or until a significant injury occurs on another team. Florio explained that the delay indicates negotiations aren’t going smoothly, and the Dolphins might need another team to face an injury before Ramsey’s contract becomes more appealing.
The Los Angeles Rams have been the only team publicly linked to a potential trade, with coach Sean McVay expressing interest in the possibility. Florio noted that the Dolphins need leverage to get value in return for Ramsey’s contract, which runs through 2028 and could pay him over $72 million.
Florio also said it’s unlikely Ramsey will sit out an entire season like Deshaun Watson did in 2021, especially with Ramsey turning 31 this October. Both Ramsey and the Dolphins want to finalize a deal; the key question is what kind of return Miami is willing to accept.
