Following a dramatic 9-8 comeback victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers fans are criticizing MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal for his conduct during the post-game celebration. The incident has prompted a response from the league. The Brewers, having already clinched a playoff spot earlier that day, staged an impressive comeback after trailing 6-1 in the sixth inning. The team tied the game in the ninth and, after falling behind again in the tenth inning, secured the win with two runs. The victory was sealed by a game-winning RBI single from Andruw Monasterio.
During the traditional post-game interview, as players celebrated by dousing Monasterio with water, Rosenthal quickly moved out of the way. In doing so, he knocked over cameraman Scott Paulus, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and team photographer. Video shows Rosenthal giving the cameraman a disapproving look and not offering assistance.
The incident drew immediate criticism from fans on social media. In response to the backlash, MLB has issued a statement. The league has reportedly decided to formally reprimand Rosenthal for unprofessional conduct and has mandated that all on-field personnel, including reporters, participate in a briefing on safety and protocol during team celebrations. Furthermore, the league has arranged for a private apology from Rosenthal to Mr. Paulus.
