New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn spoke highly of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the two teams prepare to face off in Week 2.
Coming off a tough loss to the Steelers, the Jets are looking to rebound against a formidable Bills team, widely regarded as one of the NFL’s best. Glenn acknowledged the challenge of going up against Allen, describing him as a player who can single-handedly lead his team to victory.
“He’s one of those guys who can will his team to win,” Glenn said. “Our will has to be stronger than his. That’s the real challenge — matching his intensity and leadership.”
Despite the defeat in Week 1, Glenn remained confident in his squad. He expressed belief in both the talent on the roster and the capability of the coaching staff.
“I believe we have really good players, and as a coaching staff, we’re going to do everything we can to prepare these guys to beat a strong opponent,” Glenn said.
Glenn emphasized the importance of consistency moving forward.
“We don’t want to be inconsistent — scoring 32 points one week and just 10 the next. I know that can happen in this league because of tough defenses, but we’re aiming to be steady in all three phases of the game.”
He also spoke about Allen’s ability to extend plays and improvise under pressure.
“Allen is tough and extremely competitive,” said Glenn. “Even when things break down, he keeps plays alive. He’s great at finding open receivers while on the move, and his teammates do a good job adjusting to him in those moments.”
As the Jets prepare for a difficult test against a division rival, Glenn’s comments reflect both realism about the opponent and optimism about his team’s potential.
