The Buffalo Bills’ group of receivers has raised some concerns this offseason, with many feeling Josh Allen could use more standout weapons.
After losing Amari Cooper and Mack Hollins, the Bills added Joshua Palmer, Elijah Moore, and Leviska Shenault Jr. to the mix.
This new trio joins returning players like Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Dalton Kincaid, and Dawson Knox. However, the main criticism is the absence of a clear No. 1 star to unify the receiving group.
Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranked the Bills’ receiving room 19th out of all 32 NFL teams, indicating room for improvement despite its potential. PFF notes the Bills’ diverse passing attack in 2024, with eight players seeing over 30 targets. Khalil Shakir led the team in both targets and receiving grade (80.1), while Keon Coleman looks poised for a breakout season after a modest rookie campaign. Tight end Dalton Kincaid also earned praise, ranking in the top 10 tight ends based on PFF WAR over the last two seasons. Although the Bills lost Hollins and Cooper, their receiving corps still holds promise.
Last year’s “receiver-by-committee” strategy worked well, helping Allen guide an offense that averaged 30.9 points per game, despite lacking a true No. 1 receiver.
Still, some believe the absence of a star receiver could become a problem in 2025.
Though ranking the group 19th might seem tough, the anticipated progress from Coleman and Kincaid—both hampered by injuries last year—suggests the receiving corps could be stronger than before.
Either way, if Buffalo’s receivers needed extra motivation for a potentially pivotal season, this ranking certainly provides it.
