JUST IN: Florida Gators basketball has announced the departure of 3 key players from the program

With the transfer portal becoming a primary way to build rosters in modern college basketball, keeping track of conference rivals’ activities and potential rosters for the 2024-25 season can be challenging.

This series will break down the transfer classes of every SEC opponent, allowing you to see how the Gators stack up in terms of talent. Due to the high number of transfers entering the SEC, this will be a multi-part series.

While many teams still have open roster spots and some transfers aren’t officially enrolled yet, this list should be nearly complete. The rosters might change slightly before the season starts, but most late additions are unlikely to be major contributors. The key transfers you need to know will be covered in this series.

Arkansas
John Calipari, now at Arkansas, has embraced the transfer portal, unlike his time at Kentucky. He brought several players from Lexington to Fayetteville.
DJ Wagner: A top recruit who had one-and-done potential but stayed in college due to his size. Wagner averaged 9.9 points and 3.3 assists per game, showing promise as an electric guard.

Zvonimir Ivisic: A 7’2” Croatian center who made an immediate impact mid-season. Despite struggling for consistency, Ivisic displayed impressive skills and shot-making potential.

Adou Thiero: A 6’7” wing known for his defensive intensity and rebounding. Though not a significant offensive threat yet, Thiero’s physical gifts and work ethic make him a valuable addition.
In addition to the Kentucky transfers, Calipari also brought in Jonas Aidoo from Tennessee. Aidoo, one of the top centers in the SEC last year, averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. His presence promises to bolster Arkansas’s frontcourt.

The biggest name Calipari secured is Johnell Davis from Florida Atlantic. Davis, who averaged 18.2 points while shooting 41% from three, was instrumental in FAU’s successful run. He is expected to be a key offensive and defensive player for Arkansas, aiming to help them make a deep tournament run.
