As of today, my heart is overflowing with gratitude, faith, and emotion as I share an update on my grandson, Beau Hunter Bean. From the moment he entered this world, Beau has been a fighter. Born with unexpected and serious medical complications, he spent 38 days in a pediatric cardiac care center—38 days filled with tears, prayers, and hope. Watching that tiny baby hooked up to tubes and monitors was one of the hardest things our family has ever gone through. But even in those moments of fear, we never stopped believing in God’s plan, and we never stopped praying. When Beau was finally cleared to come home in mid-August, it felt like the greatest victory of our lives.
Since coming home, Beau has continued to amaze us. His doctors have been able to reduce some of his medications, and each small step forward feels like a miracle. He still needs close care and regular checkups, but every day that we get to see his little smile reminds us of how far he’s come. We know the road ahead won’t always be easy, but we’re trusting in God and holding onto the hope that Beau’s strength will continue to shine through.
There was one moment that touched me deeper than words can describe. On August 5, the anniversary of my late son Hunter’s passing, Beau was taken off oxygen—and he’s been breathing on his own ever since. That day, I felt something powerful, something divine. I truly believe Hunter is watching over his baby nephew, guiding him, protecting him, and reminding us that love never dies. It was more than coincidence—it was a message from heaven that our family is never alone.
I also want to speak directly to the Buffalo Bills fans—Bills Mafia—my extended family. Your outpouring of love, prayers, and messages carried us through the darkest nights. You reminded us of what makes Buffalo so special—the heart, the loyalty, and the compassion that define this community. The cards, the letters, the posts online—all of it meant more than words can ever express. My family and I have felt your prayers, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Right now, Beau is home, getting stronger, and surrounded by love. Every giggle, every peaceful nap, every heartbeat is a blessing we don’t take for granted. To everyone who prayed, sent kind words, or simply kept our family in your thoughts—thank you. Your faith has helped lift us up. Please continue to keep “Little Bean” in your prayers, because those prayers are working. From my family to yours—thank you, Buffalo, for being part of our miracle.
