The Buffalo Bills sit at 4-1, but several weaknesses have become apparent. The receiving corps has struggled to create separation, while the defense lacks consistent playmakers, especially on the edge and in the secondary. To solidify their roster for a deep playoff run, here are five potential trade targets who could make an immediate impact.
1. WR Rashid Shaheed – New Orleans Saints
Shaheed’s elite speed would give the Bills a true deep threat, something their offense has lacked. He demonstrated his explosive ability in Week 5 with an 88-yard touchdown against the New York Giants. Given that Josh Palmer hasn’t provided much production despite his contract, Shaheed could be a valuable spark to the passing attack.
2. WR Chris Olave – New Orleans Saints
For a more significant upgrade, Buffalo could aim higher with Olave. Though he battled injuries in 2024, Olave started his career with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and remains one of the NFL’s top young receivers. He would immediately become Josh Allen’s go-to target.
3. WR Jakobi Meyers – Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders’ season has been disastrous, and Meyers requested a trade earlier this year. He’s a reliable perimeter receiver with strong hands and route-running ability—qualities the Bills could use. He would instantly compete to be the team’s top wideout.
4. WR D.J. Moore – Chicago Bears
Moore’s role in Chicago has diminished with rookie Rome Odunze becoming Caleb Williams’ primary target. Still, Moore remains a proven veteran with consecutive seasons of 90 or more receptions. His consistency and experience would bolster Buffalo’s offense.
5. CB Riq Woolen – Seattle Seahawks
Seattle is reportedly open to trade discussions, and Woolen fits the prototype that coach Sean McDermott prefers in a cornerback: long, athletic, with strong ball skills and solid run support. Adding Woolen could help stabilize the secondary as the team deals with injuries and depth issues.
As the trade deadline approaches, the Bills have a chance to strengthen key areas and push themselves closer to Super Bowl contention. A move for any of these players could provide the missing piece Buffalo needs for a championship-caliber roster.
