The Buffalo Bills continue to make calculated roster adjustments as the team prepares for Week 6, adding familiar defensive contributors Baylon Spector and Jalen Kimber to the practice squad. The signings signal Buffalo’s effort to strengthen depth and maintain flexibility across its defensive units following recent roster changes.
Baylon Spector, 26, rejoins the Bills after spending his first three NFL seasons in Buffalo from 2022 to 2024. Known for his strong work ethic and special teams reliability, Spector has logged 34 total tackles, including nine assists, along with one sack and one quarterback hit during his tenure. A seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft (No. 232 overall), the six-foot, 233-pound linebacker appeared in eight games in 2024, four in 2023, and one as a rookie in 2022. His experience within Buffalo’s defensive system is expected to help him quickly reintegrate into the lineup if called upon.
Meanwhile, Jalen Kimber, 24, is returning for a second stint with the Bills after initially joining the team earlier this season. The six-foot-one, 184-pound cornerback showcased his potential during his college career, splitting time between Florida and Penn State. Over 44 collegiate appearances, Kimber recorded 75 tackles, nine pass breakups, one interception, and one fumble recovery. In his final season at Penn State, he started 15 of 16 games, contributing 35 tackles, one tackle for loss, and three pass breakups, establishing himself as a dependable coverage defender with solid instincts.
Kimber’s path to Buffalo included a short tenure with the Tennessee Titans, who signed him as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. After being released by Tennessee in late August, Kimber joined Buffalo’s roster three days later before being waived on September 23. His return underscores the Bills’ continued interest in developing his talent and versatility within the secondary.
To make space for both additions, the team released linebacker Otis Reese IV from the practice squad. Reese, who had been part of the team’s developmental unit, will now look for opportunities elsewhere in the league.
The moves reflect Buffalo’s ongoing approach of maintaining roster balance and building insurance for potential injuries as the season intensifies. Both Spector and Kimber bring familiarity and adaptability that fit seamlessly into the Bills’ defensive philosophy, positioning the team to respond swiftly to personnel needs in the weeks ahead.
