The Buffalo Bills dominated their Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets, cruising to a 30-10 win and improving to 2-0 on the season. While the game itself was one-sided, there was a moment of concern when quarterback Josh Allen left the field bleeding from his nose after a hit.
Allen returned shortly after, but the sight of the team’s franchise player with blood streaming down his face caused unease among fans. After the game, Allen explained what happened.
“We can breathe, so it’s good,” Allen joked. “I don’t know what hit me—it might have been a knee, a hand, something. The helmet came down right on the bridge of my nose and it just started leaking.”
Statistically, Allen had a quieter game than usual. He completed 14 of 25 passes for 148 yards without a touchdown or interception. On the ground, he added 59 yards on six carries. Despite the lack of touchdowns from Allen, Buffalo still had more than enough firepower to put the Jets away.
The Bills’ defense was particularly impressive, holding New York to only 154 total yards. Defense has been a key question for Buffalo entering the season, and if the unit continues to perform at this level, the team’s playoff outlook will only strengthen.
Though the offense left room for improvement, the overall result was convincing. The main relief for fans, however, was that Allen’s injury scare turned out to be minor. With him healthy, Buffalo remains firmly in the Super Bowl conversation.
The Bills now turn their focus to Week 3, when they host the Miami Dolphins in another divisional matchup.
