In a surprising update from the NHL, the St. Louis Blues’ 2025–26 season opener against the Minnesota Wild has been rescheduled. Originally slated for Thursday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. CT, the game will now be played on Friday, October 10 at 6:30 p.m. CT at Enterprise Center.
League officials cited broadcast adjustments and scheduling conflicts as the reason for the change, with the contest now set to be featured as part of a national doubleheader on ESPN. The shift ensures the Blues’ opener will receive wider primetime coverage across North America.
This marks the second time in three years that the Blues’ home opener has been moved for national television purposes, reflecting the team’s continued draw among fans and networks.
Players and staff were notified earlier this week, with Blues head coach Drew Bannister noting that the extra day gives his team “a little more preparation time before hitting the ice in front of our fans.”
Fans who purchased tickets for the original October 9 date will see them automatically honored for the new October 10 start time. The team has also announced that any scheduling conflicts for season ticket holders will be addressed directly through the Blues’ ticket office.
