In mid-July, Austin FC announced the addition of five new Austin-based investors who will hold minority, non-controlling stakes in the club. The new owners are Jenny Just, Matt Hulsizer, Tench Coxe, Tanuj Gulati, and Dave Snyderman.
Just and Hulsizer are co-founders and managing partners of Peak6 Investments, a financial services and technology firm based in Austin. Coxe has served on Nvidia’s board since 1993 and was managing director at Sutter Hill from 1989 to 2020. Gulati, a lifelong soccer fan, co-founded Securonix, a security analytics and operations platform, where he served as chief technology officer. Snyderman is managing partner and global head of alternative credit and fixed income at Magnetar Capital.
Austin FC founder and CEO Anthony Precourt will retain majority control. The original ownership group — which includes Eduardo Margain, Marius Haas, Bryan Sheffield, Matthew McConaughey, David Kahn, and Toby Neugebauer — will continue alongside the newly added members.
Precourt welcomed the new investors, noting that the club’s supporters and partners have built a strong culture over the past five years. He expressed confidence that the new members will contribute to the team’s growth and maintain its role as a source of pride for Central Texas.
