Veteran NFL running back Latavius Murray has officially retired from professional football. A former sixth-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders, Murray finishes his career with over 8,000 rushing yards and 61 touchdowns. He gained recognition for his professionalism and reliability, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2015 after rushing for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns while starting all 16 games.
Though his role shifted in later years, often serving as a backup or complementary back, Murray remained productive and respected. He notably shared backfields with stars like Alvin Kamara during his time with the New Orleans Saints.
Murray’s final stop was with the Buffalo Bills, where he contributed 300 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the 2024 season, as well as 119 receiving yards. He also appeared in two playoff games, including the Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
While not a Hall of Fame candidate, Murray is remembered as a steady, hardworking presence throughout his career and a valued teammate across multiple teams.
