Allen praised Maye’s abilities and character, calling him “super talented” and one of his favorite young quarterbacks in the NFL. Although the two have only crossed paths twice so far, during Maye’s rookie season, Allen was impressed by what he saw. Maye took over partway through his first year and started in 12 games. He threw for over 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns, completing just over 66 percent of his passes, showing efficiency and potential early in his career.
