Hartlepool United Set To Retain Forward: Rumour shut down

It’s anticipated that Hartlepool United will retain the services of striker Mani Dieseruvwe for the upcoming 2024/25 National League season, despite speculation on social media suggesting otherwise.

The 29-year-old played a pivotal role in his debut season with Hartlepool United last year after joining from FC Halifax Town. Despite rumors of a potential departure this summer, Dieseruvwe is likely to honor the remainder of his contract with the Pools.

Since arriving on a free transfer last summer, Dieseruvwe has made 39 league appearances, impressively scoring 23 goals and providing eight assists. His impactful performances have been a significant boost for Hartlepool United, following his double-digit goal tally for Halifax in the 2022/23 season.

Journalist Rob Law has confirmed via Twitter that despite external interest, the Pools are expecting Dieseruvwe to remain at the club, indicating that only a substantial offer would prompt Hartlepool to consider a transfer.

Rumour shut down

Rob Law has debunked rumors linking Hartlepool United striker Mani Dieseruvwe with a move to League One side Mansfield Town this summer. In a tweet, Law clarified:

“In addition, wild ‘reports’ linking him with a move to Mansfield are false. Mansfield do not intend to bid for the Pools striker.”

This statement from Law dismisses any speculation suggesting that Mansfield Town is interested in acquiring Dieseruvwe’s services for the upcoming transfer window.

Can Dieseruvwe fire Hartlepool into promotion contention?

Hartlepool United faced numerous challenges last season, including inconsistent form, injuries, and suspensions, which halted their play-off ambitions. However, heading into the 2024/25 campaign, the club aims to push further under new manager Darren Sarll, replacing Kevin Phillips. Departures of key players like Josh Umerah and Callum Cooke have left gaps in the squad, increasing the pressure on remaining attackers such as Mani Dieseruvwe.

Dieseruvwe, who contributed to 31 goals in 39 league appearances last season, will be crucial for Hartlepool’s aspirations. His scoring prowess could alleviate any concerns about squad depth, especially if surrounded by improved talent. With a potential increase in his goal contributions, Hartlepool could surpass their previous points tally, positioning themselves for a top-seven finish and a renewed shot at promotion.
