Just in: 3 Car crash injures teen in Plattsburgh

A teenager was injured in a three-car crash involving a driver who police say was intoxicated at the time of the incident on Tuesday in Plattsburgh.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Route 9 at the intersection with Commodore Thomas Macdonough Highway.

According to police, Daniel McNeillie, 37, of Plattsburgh, was driving a pickup truck that failed to stop at a red light and collided with an SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy, also from Plattsburgh.

The impact caused both vehicles to slide into a third car.

The teenager sustained an arm injury and was taken to CVPH for treatment but has since been released. The driver of the third car was not injured.

Police reported that McNeillie showed signs of intoxication and was unable to pass a field sobriety test.

He was taken to CVPH for evaluation and subsequently arrested. McNeillie is facing a charge of reckless endangerment and is scheduled to appear in court in Plattsburgh in July.
