Driver crashes in Fairmount Park after being shot in the head

The driver of a Honda Accord crashed through two fences and then collided with a tree after being shot twice in the head early Sunday morning, according to police.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 5:44 a.m. along the 1700 block of Belmont Mansion Drive in Fairmount Park.

Police discovered the scene after the Honda Accord had crashed into a tree, having first plowed through two fences.

Inside the car, officers found a 20-year-old man who had sustained two gunshot wounds to the head.

He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in extremely critical condition.

Police have not yet made any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
