JUST NOW: 3 Car crash injures teen in Plattsburgh

Plattsburgh, NY – A teenager was injured in a three-car crash on Tuesday, involving a driver who police say was drunk at the time in Plattsburgh.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Route 9 at the intersection with Commodore Thomas Macdonough Highway.

According to investigators, 37-year-old Daniel McNeillie of Plattsburgh was driving a pickup truck that failed to stop at a red light, colliding with an SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy, also from Plattsburgh. The impact caused both vehicles to slide into a third car.

The teen sustained an arm injury and was taken to CVPH for treatment but has since been released. The driver of the third car was not injured.

Police reported that McNeillie exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test.

He was taken to CVPH for evaluation and subsequently arrested. McNeillie is facing a reckless endangerment charge and is scheduled to appear in court in Plattsburgh in July.
