People stabbed in recent High Wycombe attack released

Two individuals who were stabbed in High Wycombe have been released from the hospital.

A 41-year-old man and woman were attacked late on Sunday, August 11, on Havenfield Road in the town.

A significant police presence was deployed, with part of Havenfield Road and sections of Sycamore Road cordoned off by authorities. Due to the severity of the incident, personnel from Aylesbury were also brought in, and neighbors reported hearing “loud screams” in the area.

The cordon was eventually lifted on August 13.

Following the attack, 45-year-old Steven May, who has no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 14, and has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to return to court next month.

In addition to May’s arrest, a 41-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. A fourth person, a 52-year-old man from High Wycombe, has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the same incident.

All individuals have been granted bail with conditions: two of them until November 4, and the other until November 7.

Thames Valley Police also confirmed that the two victims have been discharged from the hospital. Despite being stabbed, their injuries were described as ‘non-life-threatening.’
