JUST IN: Steelers Player’s Cause Of Death Disclosed

Information has been released regarding the sudden death of former Steelers player Jacoby Jones in July.

A cause of death has been disclosed for Jones, who passed away last month at the age of 40.

Jones died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to a New Orleans medical examiner. This heart condition was caused by long-term high blood pressure.

Jones was best known as a wide receiver during his NFL career. He spent five seasons with the Houston Texans, three with the Baltimore Ravens, and had a brief stint with the San Diego Chargers.

He concluded his professional career with the Steelers in 2015, recording modest kick return numbers in four games: six punt returns for 19 yards and nine kick returns for 220 yards.

Jones was found dead in his home on July 14. Following his death, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin posted on X: “My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Jacoby Jones during this difficult time. I enjoyed coaching him during his time with the Steelers.”
