CONFIRMED: Lawrence Shankland transfer bid update confirmed by Hearts ahead of Rangers clash

Hearts have not received any offers or expressions of interest from Rangers for Lawrence Shankland during the transfer window, as confirmed by Andrew McKinlay.

The Tynecastle chief executive told Hearts TV, ahead of the season opener against Rangers, that the Scotland striker would remain with the Jambos “unless or until” a sufficient bid is made.

Rumors of Rangers’ interest have persisted for nearly a year, and Philippe Clement is reportedly now considering a move before the transfer deadline, with funds available, according to the Daily Record (July 29).

McKinlay himself is reportedly being considered for the vacant CEO position at Ibrox (Daily Record, June 23) but dismissed the notion of Shankland heading to Glasgow first.

He said, via Football Scotland (August 2): “Is that still being talked about? It’s amazing that as we prepare to play Rangers in the first game of the season, Lawrence is linked with a move to Rangers… although I see this week he’s now been linked with a move to Celtic.”
