Millwall decided to release the attacker at the end of last season, and he has now joined the National League South team.

Abdulmalik, 21, became a free agent after his contract with the Lions expired in late June, and he has been exploring his options since then.

Ross Jenkins, Abdulmalik’s new manager and former Watford and Crawley Town player, expressed his excitement on Boreham Wood’s website: “I’m delighted to get Abdul on board. He’s an exciting player who can change a game with his attacking abilities and speed. Having fresh legs and enthusiasm is key to a squad, and he also adds a different dynamic to our ranks.”

The Hertfordshire team, relegated from the National League last season, will be aiming for immediate promotion.
