Key Salford Red Devils figure signs new deal

Salford Red Devils have announced that Krisnan Inu has signed a new five-year contract, securing his place at the club until the end of the 2029 season.

This is a significant boost for the club, as Inu is part of the trio that includes head coach Paul Rowley and coach Kurt Haggerty. Under their leadership, Salford Red Devils have earned the nickname ‘Great Entertainers’ for playing some of the most attractive rugby, despite operating on one of the smallest budgets.

Inu’s extended contract is likely to spark speculation about the future of head coach Paul Rowley, who has been heavily linked with the Leeds Rhinos job. It is assumed that if Rowley were to leave Salford, he would take his trusted allies with him. Therefore, Inu’s long-term deal could indicate that Rowley, as he has consistently expressed, plans to stay at Salford.

News of Krisnan Inu’s new deal broke last night as Salford Red Devils announced the extension during three other Super League games.

In a statement on the club website, they said: “We are delighted to reveal Krisnan Inu has penned a new five-year deal as part of the coaching team.”

Commenting on his extended stay, Inu said: “I’m happy to have inked a deal to stay. Linking up with Paul and Kurt played a key role in my decision, and keeping this coaching team together was an easy yes. Thank you to those involved, especially my wife Camille, who continues to let me pursue my dream of staying in the game, from playing to coaching.”

Managing Director Paul King added: “Krisnan has been a fantastic servant to the club, and I am delighted he has chosen to remain with us for the long term. He has brought experience from both sides of the world to our dressing room and is a well-respected figure among his peers and the wider rugby world. He is a crucial member of our coaching team, and I am looking forward to what they can achieve together this season and beyond.”

Salford Red Devils will take on Castleford Tigers today, knowing that a win will see them leap ahead of St Helens and solidify their playoff position after last week’s loss.
