We are pleased to announce the signing of Aaron Essel, pending international clearance, to our club.

The versatile 18-year-old, capable of playing in midfield or defense, has committed to a three-year contract at McDiarmid Park.

Aaron, previously with Bechem United, featured as a trialist against Arbroath last Saturday and is eager to continue his development with us.

Speaking to Saints TV, Aaron expressed his delight: “I am thrilled to join here. It’s a significant step for my career and personal growth.

“I feel very proud and fortunate to be here. I want to showcase my skills on the field—my tackling, my passing. My goal is to become a key player for the club.

“The staff, players, and manager have been fantastic. The welcome here has been incredible. I am loving it and I’m committed to giving my best.”

Aaron, who has represented Ghana in the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, is enjoying settling into life in Perth.

He added with a smile: “I’m enjoying the city and keen to learn more about it.”

Manager Craig Levein commented: “Aaron is a young player with great potential and possesses a range of skills that can make him a valuable asset. He trained with us for about 10 days towards the end of last season and impressed.

“As seen in his recent outing against Arbroath, he is comfortable in central midfield, but he can also operate as a full-back or central defender. We will see how things progress, but his versatility and overall ability have left a positive impression.”
