Steve Settle III, a former standout at Howard University and Temple University, has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Miami Heat following the 2025 NBA Draft.
The Exhibit 10 deal is a non-guaranteed training camp contract that allows the team to convert it into a two-way contract. If Settle spends at least 60 days with the Heat’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,000.
Standing 6-foot-10, Settle is known for his shooting ability and versatile playstyle. Speaking with Temple News ahead of the draft, he expressed a mix of excitement and uncertainty:
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, and that’s the exciting part. One call can change everything. I’ve put in the work, and once I get the opportunity, I’m ready to keep growing and improving.”
Settle began his college basketball career at Howard in 2019, redshirting his first year before becoming a key contributor. By the 2022–23 season, he helped Howard win both the MEAC regular season and tournament titles, averaging 11.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He gained national attention by scoring 13 points in Howard’s 2023 NCAA Tournament appearance against Kansas.
After transferring to Temple University, Settle started every game of the 2024–25 season. He averaged 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting an impressive 41.6% from three-point range. His college career included multiple double-doubles and a standout 22-point performance in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
Now, Settle aims to earn a permanent spot on a competitive Miami Heat roster known for its playoff aspirations and player development.
