Jalen Hurts grabbed attention with a big announcement on Monday. After leading the Philadelphia Eagles to just their second Super Bowl victory in franchise history—his first championship with the team—Hurts is gearing up for another NFL season. Once again, he proved why he’s considered a true winner.
Despite some critics attributing the Eagles’ success more to the team’s overall talent than Hurts himself, he has consistently demonstrated strong leadership. In the Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs, Hurts completed 17 of 22 passes for two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed 11 times for 72 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground.
On Monday, during an appearance on NBC’s “Today Show,” Hurts revealed he will be releasing a children’s book titled Better Than a Touchdown, illustrated by Nneka Myers. The book is scheduled for release on March 10, 2026, and fans can preorder it now.
Hurts shared, “It all started for me, and I’ve always dreamed of having my own children’s book. Today, that dream becomes a reality.”
Following the announcement, fans flooded social media with reactions:
- “What can’t this man do?” one fan asked.
- “He’s the definition of aura,” another said.
- “We’re fortunate to have such a great person leading by example at quarterback,” commented a fan.
- “The final sentence of the book says it all: when your peers encourage you to achieve greatness, anything is possible!” noted another.
- “This is awesome—I might buy it for my younger great nieces and nephews,” shared one fan.
- “I’m trying hard not to like a Philly Eagles QB since I’m a Cowboys fan, but this guy is just so likable,” joked another.
Hurts was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft after playing college football at Alabama and Oklahoma. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 223-pound quarterback passed for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while rushing for an additional 630 yards and 14 touchdowns.
