Canadian RB Prospect David Gabriel Georges Impresses at Ohio State Camp
Despite English being his third language, 2027 running back David Gabriel Georges showed no communication barriers during Ohio State’s recent camp. The Quebec native, who moved to Tennessee last year, thrived under the intense coaching style of Buckeyes RB coach Carlos Locklyn.
“I really connected with Coach Locklyn’s approach,” said Georges, who ranks as a top-50 national prospect. “His military-style coaching reminds me of how my uncle trained me back home.” The 4-star recruit has quickly adapted to U.S. football after transferring to Baylor School in Chattanooga, rushing for 1,000+ yards last season.
While still improving his English, Georges understood Locklyn’s core teachings about ball security and fundamentals. “When guys didn’t carry the ball high and tight, we did pushups,” he noted. The cultural transition has been smoother on the field than in the classroom, thanks to his school’s support system.
With 30+ offers including Alabama, Georgia and Michigan, Georges sees Ohio State as a strong contender. He’s particularly drawn to how Locklyn developed Quinshon Judkins: “I study Judkins’ game – we have similar styles.” Academic quality remains his family’s top priority in choosing a school.
The rising junior plans to visit Ohio State for a game this fall and return for 2026 camps. His performance this summer suggests the Buckeyes have found an international prospect who can handle their coaching intensity despite language differences.
