Over the weekend, Auburn’s football program hosted a group of recruits as they prepared for the upcoming recruiting dead period. One of the standout visitors was 4-star wide receiver Devin Carter, who has been committed to Auburn since January of this year.
Devin Carter hails from Douglasville, Georgia, and is highly regarded in the recruiting rankings. He is rated as the No. 120 overall recruit nationally, the No. 17 wide receiver in the 2026 class, and the No. 15 prospect from the state of Georgia. Carter initially committed to Florida State in 2023 but later withdrew that commitment, spending some time as an uncommitted recruit before ultimately pledging to Auburn.
Despite his Auburn commitment, Carter took an official visit to Florida State earlier this month and has kept one foot in the door with the Seminoles. However, after spending time on Auburn’s campus this past weekend, he made it clear that Auburn feels like the right fit for him.
Carter spoke highly of the coaching staff, highlighting the relationships he’s built with head coach Hugh Freeze and wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. He also mentioned working out with fellow wide receiver Deuce Knight and expressed confidence in their future success together on the field.
Reaffirming his dedication to Auburn, Carter said he is fully committed and that his recent visit only strengthened that bond. He emphasized that Auburn is home, and he looks forward to making an impact at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
