Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin Released from Hospital After Cardiac Arrest
Damar Hamlin, a safety for the Buffalo Bills, has been discharged from the hospital following a serious cardiac incident. The 24-year-old collapsed on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals after making a tackle on Tee Higgins.
Although Hamlin briefly stood up after the play, he quickly fell to the ground. Emergency medical staff acted quickly, administering life-saving treatment and restoring his heartbeat before transporting him to the hospital in critical condition.
He was treated at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he showed significant improvement over the following days. After spending a week in care, Hamlin has now returned to Buffalo to continue his recovery.
In a statement, the Buffalo Bills expressed their relief and optimism: “We are thrilled and proud to share that Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital and returned to Buffalo. He is doing well and this is the next stage of his recovery.”
Following the incident, the game between the Bills and Bengals was postponed and ultimately not resumed. However, this decision did not affect the playoff positions of either team. The Bills are scheduled to play the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card round on Sunday.
