Josh Allen’s Wife Hailee Steinfeld Missed Out on Iconic Role
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and actress Hailee Steinfeld recently got married in a private ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The couple got engaged last November, when Allen proposed during the Bills’ bye week on a California cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Steinfeld has been in the spotlight not only for her marriage but also for her role in the film Sinners. The movie, directed by Ryan Coogler, tells the story of twin brothers returning to their hometown only to face an even greater evil. Sinners has been a major success, grossing over $350 million worldwide and becoming one of 2025’s highest-grossing original films.
Despite her current success, Steinfeld once auditioned for a major role she didn’t get. In 2012, she auditioned for the lead part of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise but lost the role to Jennifer Lawrence. Other notable actresses who auditioned for the part include Shailene Woodley, Abigail Breslin, and Saoirse Ronan.
Although she missed out on that breakthrough role, Steinfeld has had a thriving career since. The Hunger Games series remains popular, with all four films currently streaming prominently on HBO Max.
Now married, it’s been suggested it would be fun to see Josh Allen cameo in one of Steinfeld’s future projects, though it’s unlikely he’ll trade football for acting.
A new Hunger Games prequel titled Sunrise on the Reaping is in the works, but Steinfeld is not part of this cast. The film will feature actors such as Ralph Fiennes and Elle Fanning.
