Veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White has returned to the Buffalo Bills after playing for the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens. Back with the team that originally drafted him, White is already paying close attention to the development of his teammates. One player in particular has made a strong impression on him—wide receiver Khalil Shakir.
White spoke highly of Shakir’s performance during practices, emphasizing his reliable hands and work ethic. “Khalil really stood out,” White said. “The way he attacks the ball and doesn’t drop anything—he’s got hands like Velcro. You can see his focus and how seriously he takes each day. He doesn’t say much, just works hard and improves constantly.”
Since entering the league in 2022, Shakir has shown consistent growth. He started with just 161 receiving yards and one touchdown in his rookie season. In the following years, he posted 611 yards in 2023 and increased that to 821 yards in 2024. His progression has made him a more prominent piece in Buffalo’s offensive strategy.
Despite finishing with the second-highest scoring average in the league last season at 30.6 points per game, the Bills’ offense leaned more heavily on the ground game. They ranked just 29th in pass percentage, suggesting room for improvement in their aerial attack. Still, the presence of quarterback Josh Allen offers a strong foundation for that side of the offense to evolve.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, the Bills hope that continued development from players like Shakir will help balance their offense and elevate their performance. With Allen at the helm and veteran leaders like White back in the fold, Buffalo appears poised to make another strong playoff push.
