Former Browns Wide Receiver Off to Promising Start With New Team
The Cleveland Browns kicked off their organized team activities (OTAs) on May 27, continuing through June 19. Meanwhile, other teams across the NFL are holding similar workouts, including the Buffalo Bills—now home to former Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore.
Moore recently signed a one-year contract with Buffalo and has already shown promise in early practices. His enthusiasm about teaming up with star quarterback Josh Allen has been evident from the beginning. That chemistry was on display in a recent session, where reporter Sal Capaccio noted Allen connecting with Moore multiple times for significant gains.
This early success is exactly what Moore had in mind when he chose the Bills. Since entering the NFL with high expectations, he has struggled to find consistent success.
Moore began his career with the New York Jets before spending two seasons with the Browns. During his time in Cleveland, he played in 34 games (starting 25), recording 120 receptions for 1,178 yards and three touchdowns. Despite playing over 70% of offensive snaps each season, he never exceeded 640 receiving yards in a single year.
Part of Moore’s struggles in Cleveland were due to instability at the quarterback position, as he caught passes from multiple QBs, including Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Jameis Winston.
Now, with a fresh start and a more stable offensive system led by Josh Allen, Moore is hoping this new opportunity in Buffalo will allow him to reach the potential that has long been expected of him
