Steelers Sign WR Montana Lemonious-Craig Following Rookie Minicamp
The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially signed wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig, who participated in their rookie minicamp two weeks ago. The team announced the move earlier today.
Lemonious-Craig becomes the fourth player to earn a contract following the minicamp, joining veteran running back Trey Sermon and rookies offensive tackle Gareth Warren and running back Max Hurleman.
He began his college career at Colorado, where he played for three seasons before transferring to Arizona for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. During his time at Arizona, he totaled 45 receptions for 468 yards and four touchdowns. His most productive college season came in 2022 at Colorado, where he recorded 23 catches for 359 yards and three touchdowns. In 2023 at Arizona, he made 28 receptions for 296 yards and three touchdowns, but his role diminished in 2024 due to the emergence of first-round pick Tetaroia McMillan.
Lemonious-Craig averaged 20.5 yards per reception throughout his college career, showcasing his potential as a deep-threat receiver. In pre-draft testing, he posted a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 5.57 out of 10, placing him 1,692nd out of 3,815 wide receivers tested between 1987 and 2025. He measured 6’1″, weighed 191 pounds, recorded a 35-inch vertical jump, and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds.
With this signing, the Steelers fill out their 91-man roster, thanks to an international exemption granted to outside linebacker Julius Welschof. Lemonious-Craig will wear jersey No. 14, a number last worn by George Pickens, who was traded to the Dallas Cowboys on May 7.
He joins a wide receiver group that includes DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, and Robert Woods. Lemonious-Craig becomes the 11th receiver on the roster and will have the opportunity to earn a spot as OTAs get underway this week.
