Team Canada had a strong showing at the 2025 World Senior Curling Championships, coming away with a gold medal in the men’s division and a silver in the women’s. The event, which brought together top senior curling teams from around the world, saw Canada once again affirm its place as a dominant force in the sport.
In the men’s final, Canada faced a determined Scottish squad in a tightly contested match. Led by skip Randy Bryden, the Canadians traded leads multiple times with their opponents before securing a critical steal in the eighth and final end. That steal broke the tie and delivered Canada a 10–7 victory, securing the gold medal and bringing the championship title home.
The Canadian men’s team, which included third Troy Robinson, second Russ Bryden, lead Chris Semenchuck, and alternate Glen Hill, played consistently throughout the tournament. Their communication, strategy, and execution under pressure were key factors in their successful campaign. This gold medal adds to Canada’s already rich legacy in international curling.
On the women’s side, Team Canada advanced to the final but fell short against a dominant Scottish team. The Canadians, skipped by Atina Ford Johnston, were unable to recover after falling behind early and ultimately conceded the game in the sixth end with a final score of 10–2. Despite the loss, they finished with a silver medal after a strong overall performance throughout the tournament.
The Canadian women’s roster featured third Shannon Morris, second Sheri Pickering, lead Cori Morris, and alternate Lesley McEwan. While the final result wasn’t what they had hoped for, their journey to the championship match showcased resilience and skill. With both teams reaching the podium, Canada once again demonstrated why it remains a world leader in curling at all levels.
