Louisville Offers Scholarship to Elite 2027 Prospect Bruce Branch
The University of Louisville has extended a scholarship offer to Bruce Branch III, one of the top prospects in the Class of 2027. A 6-foot-8 wing from Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona, Branch is currently ranked No. 10 nationally by 247Sports. He plays AAU basketball with the Compton Magic, where he recently impressed at the Adidas 3SSB event in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey, along with assistants Thomas Carr and Brian Kloman, were in attendance to watch Branch over the weekend. He’s teammates with Cameron Williams, a 2026 forward ranked No. 15 in his class, who also received an offer from Louisville.
Branch has had a standout year, helping lead Perry High to a state title and earning high praise at USA Basketball’s minicamp during the Final Four in San Antonio. His recent performances have sparked discussions about whether he could rise to the No. 1 spot in the 2027 rankings.
Following the Iowa showcase, 247Sports’ Eric Bossi noted that Branch is firmly in the conversation as a potential top player in his class and is expected to move up in the upcoming mid-June rankings update.
Branch’s list of offers includes major programs such as Louisville, Indiana, UCLA, USC, California, Tennessee, Virginia, Kansas State, LSU, and others.
