Amante Martin, a standout running back from Port Arthur Memorial High School in Texas, has scheduled an official visit to the University of Kentucky on May 30. Martin is part of the 2026 recruiting class and is drawing attention from several programs across the country. Standing at 5-foot-11.5 and weighing 185 pounds, he has already established himself as a top prospect in his class.
In addition to his upcoming trip to Kentucky, Martin plans to visit Tulsa, Kansas, and Houston on the following weekends. These visits will give him an opportunity to explore his options and assess how each program aligns with his athletic and academic goals. His recruitment has picked up momentum since receiving an offer from Kentucky on January 28.
Jay Boulware, Kentucky’s running backs coach, has taken the lead in recruiting Martin. His consistent communication and efforts have kept Kentucky in strong contention for the talented back. Boulware’s track record and vision for Martin’s development appear to be key factors in Martin’s interest in the Wildcats.
Martin is currently rated an 88 out of 100 by 247Sports, placing him as the No. 27 running back in the nation for the 2026 class. His family ties to the game also run deep—his brother, Kam Martin, serves as the associate head coach and running backs coach at Tulsa. This connection may play a role in his decision-making process, especially with Tulsa also on his list of visits.
Beyond football, Martin is a multi-sport athlete who competes in track and field. This season, he has participated in the 200 and 400 meter dash events, as well as several relays. His personal best in the 100 meter dash is 11.36 seconds, a time he recorded during the 2024 season. His speed and athleticism on the track translate well to the football field, making him an even more attractive recruit.
