Josh Allen Ranked Below Top Spot in Fantasy QB Projections Despite MVP Season
Despite being the 2024 NFL MVP, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was not ranked as the top fantasy quarterback for the 2025 season by Fantasy Life analyst Kendall Valenzuela.
Fantasy football remains one of the most engaging aspects of the NFL, with quarterbacks often considered the most valuable position. Valenzuela grouped three QBs at the top of his rankings, with Allen among them, but ultimately placed him at No. 2, just behind Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson.
Valenzuela highlighted Allen’s consistent fantasy production, noting that he has finished as a top-three QB in fantasy points per game over the past five seasons. In 2024, Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns, with only five interceptions—a career low. He also added 531 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, reinforcing his status as an elite dual-threat quarterback.
Despite these strong numbers, Valenzuela leaned toward Jackson, citing his historic 2024 performance. Jackson led all quarterbacks with 915 rushing yards, averaging nearly 54 rushing yards per game, while also posting career highs in passing: 474 attempts, 316 completions, 4,172 yards, and 41 touchdowns—with just four interceptions and a league-best 8.8 yards per attempt.
Valenzuela acknowledged that both Allen and Jackson could be ranked first, but until Jackson shows a decline, he believes Jackson is the better pick for fantasy managers going into 2025.
