Lamar Jackson Joins Josh Allen at the Top of Fantasy Football Rankings
With the 2025 NFL Draft and free agency in the rearview, teams are preparing for the upcoming season. The Baltimore Ravens have added key players, including wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and safety Malaki Starks, to strengthen their Super Bowl push. Hopkins, in particular, is expected to elevate an already potent passing attack that thrived in 2024.
Much of that success was driven by quarterback Lamar Jackson, who had the best season of his career. Known for his athleticism, Jackson took a major step forward as a passer, solidifying his status as one of the league’s elite quarterbacks.
As a result, Jackson is now being compared to 2024 MVP and fantasy football standout Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy analyst Kendall Valenzuela highlighted their performances, noting that Jackson led all quarterbacks with 915 rushing yards last season, averaging 53.8 yards per game. More significantly, he posted career highs in passing attempts (474), completions (316), yards (4,172), and touchdowns (41), while throwing just four interceptions and leading the league with 8.8 yards per attempt.
While Jackson’s running ability remains a key asset, Allen offers value through his effectiveness in short-yardage situations, often using quarterback sneaks to score. However, the Ravens’ acquisition of Derrick Henry may impact Jackson’s rushing opportunities near the goal line.
There’s no clear consensus on who should be the first quarterback selected in fantasy drafts — both are among the safest and most productive options. With Hopkins now in Baltimore, expectations are high for Jackson to maintain or even improve his passing numbers.
Whether fantasy managers choose Jackson or Allen, they’re getting a top-tier quarterback. The only real question is whether another position offers better value at their draft spot.
