Louisville Commit Sam Dawson Schedules Official Visit
Crestwood, Ky. — In-state defensive lineman and Louisville commit Sam Dawson has set the date for his official visit with the Cardinals. The three-star prospect from South Oldham High School will make the trip to campus on June 6, as part of the second wave of recruits visiting during the month.
Dawson, who stands at 6-foot-4.5 and weighs 290 pounds, has already made several informal visits to Louisville, both as a fan and a recruit. However, this visit will offer him a more comprehensive experience. “June 6th,” Dawson said. “Photo shoot and everything. We’ve got hotel rooms. I’m excited.” He’s especially eager to explore more than just the football side of the university. “I haven’t seen any of the academics,” he noted. “I’d love to check out the campus, see my dorm, and learn more about college life.”
Since committing to the Cardinals on January 16, Dawson has remained enthusiastic about joining the program, calling it “an honor.” A key contributor for South Oldham, he wrapped up his junior season with 60 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, one sack, and an interception.
Dawson is currently ranked as the No. 91 defensive lineman nationally by 247Sports. His high school team finished the season with a 7-4 record, eventually falling to Cooper, the Class 5-A state runner-up, in the playoffs.
As Louisville continues to build its 2025 recruiting class, Dawson’s upcoming visit is another step in strengthening his connection to the program and getting a full picture of life as a Cardinal.
