Baylor men’s basketball has secured its third commitment for the 2025 recruiting class, adding Blair Academy (NJ) center Ramon “Mayo” Soyoye. The 6-foot-10, 235-pound, unranked prospect is known for his strong shot-blocking ability and presence on defense, particularly on the boards. Soyoye joins five-star forward Tounde Yessoufou and three-star forward Andre Iguodala II in the 2025 class under head coach Scott Drew. Recently, Soyoye visited both Maryland and Baylor, and he holds offers from schools like New Mexico State, Seton Hall, Xavier, and Villanova.
In an interview earlier this year with 247Sports’ Dushawn London, Soyoye was praised as one of the top uncommitted big men in the 2025 class. He only began playing basketball in high school and plans to redshirt next season to further develop his game. “I’m looking for a program that will help me grow,” Soyoye said. “I’m fine with not starting immediately. I’m ready to develop and learn as I go.”
Soyoye, who describes himself as an “athletic hustle player” with a focus on defense and rebounding, will be a valuable developmental piece on Baylor’s veteran-heavy roster. Though he doesn’t see himself as a primary scorer, he is eager to contribute through plays like setting screens and helping his team in other ways.
