Clemson University’s baseball team is approaching the final stretch of its regular season with a busy schedule in May. The Tigers are set to face Duke in a three-game series from May 9 to 11, followed by another home series against Pittsburgh from May 15 to 17. These matchups are critical as the team aims to finish the season strong and prepare for postseason play. Earlier in the month, Clemson dropped two of three games against Florida State and suffered a loss to Coastal Carolina.
Off the field, Clemson University celebrated its May 2025 commencement with ceremonies held at Littlejohn Coliseum. The graduation featured 86 student-athletes, 27 spirit squad members, and 17 student assistants receiving academic honors. The graduating group earned degrees in a broad range of fields, with 111 receiving bachelor’s degrees, 19 earning master’s degrees, and 7 completing advanced certificates across 43 academic areas.
This graduating class includes athletes who were part of some of Clemson’s most successful athletic programs in recent years. Several members contributed to teams that won Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) titles, such as football, baseball, and men’s soccer. Others played key roles on NCAA Elite Eight teams in men’s and women’s soccer, women’s golf, and men’s basketball. In addition, the class features graduates from Clemson’s inaugural lacrosse and gymnastics teams, reflecting the university’s growing sports landscape.
Clemson Athletics also continues to perform exceptionally well in academic metrics. The university recorded a 96% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for the 2014–2017 student-athlete cohort, tying for the highest rate among all public Power Five programs. This achievement marks the eleventh consecutive cohort with a GSR above 91%, and the fourth straight year at 95%. Clemson also posted a 996 Academic Progress Rate (APR), the second-highest in its history, demonstrating consistent academic excellence across all sports.
As the baseball season nears its conclusion and another class of student-athletes moves on, Clemson’s program continues to show strength both on the field and in the classroom. The combination of athletic competitiveness and academic achievement helps reinforce the university’s standing as a national leader in student-athlete development. With key baseball series approaching and a successful graduation behind them, the Tigers look ahead with confidence and momentum.
