Bills Fans React to Disappointing 2025 NFL Draft Grade
The Buffalo Bills’ 2025 NFL Draft strategy has raised eyebrows, especially after receiving a poor evaluation from The Athletic. The team made nine selections, with six focused on defensive players, but analyst Austin Mock gave the draft class a disappointing overall grade: a ‘D’.
Mock’s grading system assesses teams based on three main criteria—player value, positional value, and trade value—while assigning a dollar amount to each draft pick, reflecting rookie contract scales. For example, the first overall pick in 2025 holds a contract value close to $49 million, whereas the 100th pick is valued around $6 million.
In comparison, other teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots received ‘B’ grades, placing the Bills in the lower half of the league.
While some believe the Bills filled critical defensive gaps with solid prospects, Mock suggests the team still has a long way to go before being considered a Super Bowl contender.
Despite the harsh critique, many Bills fans remain skeptical of the grading method and feel the evaluation undervalues the team’s decisions.
