Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen recently underwent surgery to repair a torn triceps tendon in his right arm. The injury required medical intervention after being evaluated by team doctors and specialists.
The procedure was successfully completed on March 26 in Los Angeles, California. It was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, a renowned orthopedic surgeon known for treating professional athletes.
According to Flyers General Manager Daniel Briere, Ristolainen is expected to miss approximately six months while recovering from the surgery. As a result, he will not be available for the team’s 2025 training camp.
Despite the extended recovery period, the team is optimistic about his long-term outlook. Medical staff anticipate that Ristolainen will make a full recovery and return to full playing condition.
The Flyers will continue to monitor his progress and provide updates as needed. In the meantime, the organization will make necessary adjustments to its defensive lineup in preparation for the upcoming season.
