Louisville has officially entered the recruitment race for 2027 wide receiver Jacob Thomas, a rising talent out of Flanagan High School in Hollywood, Florida. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect, known for his speed and agility, is currently committed to the University of Pittsburgh but continues to draw interest from other major programs.
Thomas recently received a scholarship offer from the University of Louisville following a conversation with Cardinals wide receivers coach Deion Branch. Branch, a former NFL player and Super Bowl MVP, sees strong potential in the young receiver and believes he would be a good fit for Louisville’s offense.
In response to the offer, Thomas expressed his appreciation and excitement. “My thoughts on the offer are great actually,” he said. “I appreciate Coach Deion Branch for giving me an opportunity to play at a school like this. It would also be a great opportunity to be coached by him because he played in the pros, and you can learn a lot from someone like that.”
Thomas has already shown early promise as a dynamic playmaker in the 2027 class. His speed, route running, and football IQ have caught the attention of scouts, and he’s expected to continue developing into a high-level collegiate athlete.
Although he remains verbally committed to Pittsburgh for now, Louisville’s interest—especially under the guidance of a coach with NFL experience—adds an intriguing layer to his recruitment. As more programs take notice, Thomas’ journey through the recruiting process is one that fans and analysts alike will be watching closely.
